ACTIVITIES  
Well Permitting Yes - The District requires permits for all new wells that are expected to produce more than 25,000 gpd.
Well Construction Standards Yes - The District rules specify construction standards that correspond with those of the State.

Water Level Monitoring Yes. The District monitors levels on open wells to develop information on the various aquifers.
Water Quality/Quantity Management Programs Yes - The District works with state and local officials on water quality programs.
Water Quality Testing and Monitoring Yes - The District has in-house capabilities to test all new wells at no cost to the owner. Water analysis is conducted by a certified lab on 40 wells annually, with a plan to add twenty more in the future.

Data Collection and Distribution Yes - The District collects data and shares it with interested agencies.
NPS and Point Source Regulations Yes - The District maintains well construction standards; a well capping and plugging program; rules on disposal and storage of waste and looks at well locations in relation to septic tanks.

Public Education Yes - The District educates the public through distribution and by speaking at civic events.
Special Activities Yes - The District activities are aimed primarily at protecting the aquifer.
Cooperative Agreements The District has entered into a regional cooperative agreement with 12 other single county underground water districts in West Texas creating the West Texas Regional Groundwater Alliance. The purpose of the agreement is to coordinate conservation activities and to provide for the maximum beneficial use of local tax dollars within the districts.
